Today I found out the VanVoorhises are having a party for the fourth of July.

Mom: Cro had to drop off Jake today at that thing the Vanvoorhises are having.
Me: What are you talking about?
Mom: Oh... you weren't invited?
Me: :/
Mom: I thought you and Sara were friends?
Me: ... this is nothing new.
Mom: But doesn't she invite you everywhere all the time?
Me: No, Mom.
Mom: But they did in high school didn't they?
Me: No... it's always been this way.
Mom: Oh.
Me: Don't worry, I'm used to it.

That moment when you're reminded of how you're the person whose existence is most easily forgotten.
